Day 14: Thursday 29th September

The wind did not let up, so we had a coffee and left Lake Eyre, opting to stop somewhere along the track for a breakfast cookup.

There is not too much of the Old Ghan left these days.

We stopped at Maree for another great steak sambo, then it was back on the road. From here it was basically black top to Broken Hill, where we stayed the night in another cheap hotel.

From Broken Hill to Wagga Wagga and then home, our journey was complete.

It would have been a shame to drag the rods all the way through the desert and not get to use them.

All of us took away something special from this trip. We got to see and do more than most ever do.

The heart of Australia is truly unique and an absolute wonderland. We shot over 500 photo's on the trip, which is testimony to how much beauty and how many secrets there are out there.

It is said that Australians love to travel, yet I honestly believe that most of the population is missing out on one of the oldest and most magical places on the planet, our back yard.
