Day 11: Monday 26th September

The tourists seem to have left the resort (we are locals by now, well, at the pool anyway) and we head out to the Olgas, about 50km west of Ayers rock.

The Olgas from the air...

Another natural wonder. They rise from the ground like ancient sentries. Awe inspiring.

...and from the ground

We start out on the 2 hour walk through the Valley of the Winds. I can only think of all that has transpired in the chasms of this place.

The Valley of the Winds

The walk is hot, but we press on and are soon back in the car enjoying the aircon as we head back to the resort. Along the way I spot a Thorny Devil on the side of the road, we stop and I grab a few shots. I love these little critters...my trip is now complete.

The Thorny Devil....what a great little lizard.

Back at camp James heads off for a helicopter flight, and Di and I go back to the pool. Knowing this is our last day here, I cant resist and grace the pool with a lovely bomb. 8/10 for Style and splash. not too bad.

We kick back for the afternoon and relax, knowing we have a long drive ahead tomorrow as we are aiming for Coober Pedy some 700kms away.
