Well, I have survived the boys weekend, not sure how.....

Official Attendee's:

Ben, James, Simon, Ken, Kenny, Ty, Zed, Conrad, Johnno, Pim, Doug, Pat, Jimmy.

Official Casualties:

1 Hilux with a busted radiator.

The lads all met at the appartments in Canberra, at midnight on the thursday night. Logic would dictate that we would all get some sleep in preparation for the early rise required to get to the campsite in time. So the beers were opened and the party began. Sometime around 2-ish we got to bed.

The drive in was good. It had bucketted down the night before and that morning, so I was a little concerned about the track conditions, however the trail proved to be dry.

This was one of the more visually stunning sections of track.. click on each image for an mpg.

Check out the TD5 Disco... there is some serious space under that tyre...

The poor lil courier just didn't have the travel to make this hill, otherwise it performed incredibly well.

It took nearly 2 hours to get to the campsite just past McIntyre Hutt in the Brindabella ranges. We got the pick of the 3 campsites (the one at the end of the trail).

Tents were pitched and then the hunt was on for the weekends supply of wood. We dragged a bunch of fallen trees backed to camp, then sectioned them up with chainsaws. This led to the creation of the log bench that now adorns the campsite. If you ever get to this place and the log bench is still there, please send me an email to let me know it has survived.

The campsite setup, everyone kicks back for brews.... ahhhhhh To see the craftsmenship of the log table, click on this image for the short mpg

It did not take long for the drinks to start, and they basically did not stop till Sunday morning when we left. It would be safe to say that everyone spent the entire weekend in a constant state of inebriation. This led to a few interesting moments, like when the Federal Police turned up with some Rangers. It would be safe to say that everyone was a little worried at this point, but none more than the Choof-Meister......

The picturesque trout river flowing through the area made for a perfect "river volley ball" court once Simon had strung the net (rope) across the river. The game started and it was not too long before the rules were set and the competition was on in earnest. As for a winner, well, Volleyball was the winner on the weekend.

River cricket was another favourite redneck game. What happens when you are not looking at the ball, Ouch!!... click for the mpg.

The other highlight provided by the river was riding bodyboards from McIntyre Hutt down through the rapids to our campsite. It was around a 20 minute trip, and it would be safe to say that the Suzuki club camped at Mc Hutt were getting more than a little used to "Courier Boy" driving up to their camp, dropping off another load of people, then doing a doughnut around the tent in the middle of the turning area then back down to our camp. I would also like to apologise to the Landrover Club who were camped between our site and the Suzuki club. They were doing their best to catch some trout, but it is hard when your line is getting tangled in drunken yahoo's on body boards.... Top points to Pat and Conrad who made 2 descents of the river at midnight. Each armed with a torch, they could be heard from half a kay away.

The weekend finished up with the "Survivor" Tribal council gathering and voting off one member of the group... Complete with flaming torches each person made their way to the Tribal log, where they cast their vote.... I did tell you everyone was in a constant state of intoxication...... Ty, congratulations on being voted off the Island....

Simon gives an early indication of who gets voted off Ty does the Victory Dance

I would like to thank everyone who attended for making this such an awsome weekend, I cant wait till The 2002 REDNECK RAMPAGE !!!!.
